Split Expedition
In the summer of 2025, Blossom Together sent 12 volunteers across split expeditions to Tanzania and Benin, marking the first time in our history we ran parallel trips in the same season...
Year:
2025
Project Destination (s):
Benin, Tanzania, Mali
Trip Destination (s):
Benin, Tanzania
Trip Duration:
12 days (TZ), 10 days (BEN)
Key Projects:
3 water wells
100+ food packages

Overview:
Benin was uncharted for us - our first time in West Africa, teaming up with Clinique Humanity First to bring cataract surgeries alongside our standard project work. On the other side of the continent, a second team touched down in Tanzania for what has now become familiar ground. Same mission, different world. Two teams operating independently, thousands of miles apart, in the same summer for the first time in Blossom Together's history.

Impact:
The numbers tell part of the story: 3 water wells, 50 cataract surgeries, over 100 food packages across three countries. The rest of the story is the hundreds of students and supporters back home who worked hard all year to get us there.

Highlights:
The work was the priority - but the memories made in between will stay with our travelers. A layover in Paris on the way out. Safaris. The beaches of Zanzibar. Two teams thousands of miles apart, each finding their own version of the journey. Shout out to everyone who made the journey: Adriano Georgiev, Colin Falgiano, George Danes, and Emmett Slavin in Tanzania — and Huseyin Karaduman, Denizhan Akif Kilic, Oznur Celik, Buse Onat, Sajidul Alam, Kathleen Krumanacker, Anya Pahwa, and Jordan Nestor in Benin.
