Overview:
In Burkina Faso, volunteers spent 7 days embedded in local communities, visiting schools, building wells, and distributing food. Mali was a remote operation - our team coordinated cataract surgeries across the border without setting foot there themselves, extending our reach beyond where we physically traveled.
Impact:
The numbers from this trip span two countries without our team ever splitting up. 2 water wells built in Burkina Faso. ~100 cataract surgeries funded across the border in Mali. 100 food packages distributed to local families. Six volunteers sealed the deal on the ground - backed by hundreds of students who made it possible from home.
Highlights:
A Morocco layover set the tone before the real work began. School visits in Burkina Faso gave volunteers a window into daily life that project work alone can't offer.
