Our Story
Blossom Together was founded in 2017 by a group of high school friends who believed that even the smallest act of service could change a life. What started as a desire to bring clean water to one community in Africa grew into something far greater - campaigns delivering food, medicine, clothing, and more across the continent.
It all began at a dinner table. Two new friends, recently immigrated from Burkina Faso, shared stories of life back home - a beautiful country burdened by poverty, famine, and a lack of basic resources. That conversation sparked something in the room. The team asked if there was anything they could do, and from that question, a mission was born. They connected with partners on the ground in Ouagadougou, formed a six-member team, and got to work. From presenting in seminars to selling Krispy Kreme donuts for a dollar each, they raised over $30,000 in relief funds in a matter of months.
Nine expeditions later, Blossom Together has grown from a high school passion project into a movement spanning universities across the country. The trips have been life-changing - not just for the communities we've served, but for every member of our team who has had the privilege of showing up. Looking back at how it all started, it's humbling and exciting to see how far a single dinner conversation can take you.
